DMLS melts fine metal powder layer by layer into fully dense parts in engineering alloys, typically stainless steels and aluminum alloys, with harder-working materials for aerospace and tooling applications. Conformal cooling channels, internal lattices, and topology-optimised brackets that no CNC machine can reach are exactly what the process is for.

DMLS earns its cost where geometry is the product: conformal cooling in mould tooling, weight-critical aerospace brackets, manifolds with smooth internal passages, and consolidated assemblies that replace five machined parts with one printed one.
Critical interfaces (bearing seats, sealing faces, threads) are typically finish-machined after printing. Plan datum features accordingly, and our engineering review will flag anything that needs attention.
Choose DMLS when the part must be metal AND the geometry defeats machining: internal features, organic topology, or extreme consolidation. For metal-look prototypes, SLS or MJF nylon with finishing is dramatically cheaper; for simple metal geometry, conventional machining usually wins on cost.
